Infrastructure plays a very important role in underpinning investment, growth and poverty reduction. It promotes inclusive economic growth and provides access for the poor to basic services and income opportunities. The region's infrastructure financing need is significant and public-private-partnerships are important vehicles to support these huge financing requirements. Dr Lohani shares his thoughts on the need to take a comprehensive development approach to infrastructure investments by looking at five dimensions of infrastructure development ? economic, demographic (including regional cooperation and cross-border infrastructure), environmental, governance and financing. Dr Lohani also shares how the Asian Development Bank helps in promoting inclusive infrastructure development and assists in developing Asia's sustainable inclusive growth.
