The Editorial Committee on Journal of JSCE
1. Author(s):
The Journal of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) accepts papers submitted by both JSCE members and non- members.
2. Papers submission:
Papers should be submitted to The Editorial Committee of the Journal of JSCE.
3. Deadline:
No specific deadline is set. Note, however, that a discussion paper should be submitted within six months of the publication of the paper it is addressing.
4. Ethical standards:
Authors shall follow the ethical standards appearing in the Appendix.
5. Paper categories:
Only papers that have not been submitted for publication elsewhere during the time they are being reviewed for the Journal are considered as original papers. Please refer to the definitions of categories and contents below. Not only original papers but also selected papers from domestic Journals in Japanese are published in the Journal as translated copies into English.
・Academic papers:
Papers dealing with theoretical/ empirical studies or technological achievements, or showing integrated insights into these achievements. Must be original and have complete structures as research papers.
・Technical reports:
Reports on research, planning, design, construction, on-site measurements and related subjects covering useful technological and engineering achievements.
・Technical notes:
1.Articles that cover new research/ technological findings and are not necessarily written in a complete structure as Research Papers or Reports.
2.Articles raising questions or presenting tentative assumptions, or giving opinions on these assumptions.
3.Articles complementing or giving corrections to already published theses/reports.
4.Test/Measurement data or statistical/schematic diagrams that can be used in researches and technological improvements.
・Discussions:
1.Research/ Technological findings related to already published papers in the Journal of JSCE.
2.Opinions or questions on already published papers in the Journal of JSCE.
6. Divisions and Paper Reviewing Procedure
6.1 Divisions
The Journal of JSCE covers major disciplines of civil engineering and includes the following seven divisions. Papers are reviewed in relevant division listed below. Please specify most appropriate division and paper category defined in Section 4.
Division A (A1: Structural Engineering & Earthquake Engineering, A2: Applied Mechanics) |
Applied mechanics(A2), Structural engineering(A1), Steel structures(A1), Hybrid structures(A1), Earthquake engineering(A1), and Wind engineering(A1), except for Buildings |
Division B (B1: Hydraulic Engineering, B2: Coastal Engineering, B3: Ocean Engineering) |
Hydraulics (B1), Hydrology (B1), River engineering (B1), Water resources engineering (B1), Harbor engineering (B2), Coastal engineering (B2), Ocean engineering (B3), Ocean development (B3), Ecohydraulics (B1), and Environmental hydraulics (B1,B2,B3) |
Division C: Geotechnics |
Soil mechanics, Foundation engineering, Rock engineering, Engineering geology, and Geo-environmental engineering (Major topics should be related to geotechnical engineering) |
