Electronic submission of a manuscript

1. Necessary information for a manuscript submission

Fill out the submission form page. Complete necessary information according to the notes on the page.

 1.1 Password
 1.2 Type of manuscript (academic paper/technical report/technical note/discussion), division, and number of pages
 1.3 Title of paper
 1.4 Name of authors
 1.5 Past submissions to the other JSCE publications or to other societies/institutions
 1.6 Revision or resubmission of a manuscript returned by JSCE or withdrawn in the past
 1.7 Corresponding author details (name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address)

2. Upload of a manuscript file

Check the information you typed in, after filling out the submission form page. Next, upload a manuscript file according to the notes on the upload page. Your manuscript file should be converted into a PDF file, and the maximum file size should be 10MB. Any file with its size over 10 MB cannot be accepted electronically. For such a case, please ask a JSCE secretariat (edi@jsce.or.jp).
 

3. Confirmation of the submission

Electronic submission is finished after completing (1) and (2). The corresponding author will receive an email to acknowledge the submission. Confirm the submission of your manuscript with this email and keep the temporary manuscript number for an inquiry. If you do not receive an email after three business days, please ask a JSCE secretariat (edi@jsce.or.jp).
 

4. Confirmation of the receipt

After the manuscript is received by JSCE, the corresponding author will receive an email to acknowledge the receipt. Confirm the receipt of your manuscript with this email and keep the manuscript number for an inquiry. If you do not receive an email after about one week, please ask a JSCE secretariat (edi@jsce.or.jp).
 

5. Withdrawal of the manuscript

The withdrawal of the manuscript cannot be processed electronically. Please submit the statement of reason to the Editorial Committee of your division via a JSCE secretariat.
 

6. Upload of a revised or a final manuscript file

After the review of the manuscript, the corresponding author will receive an email about the review results. When revisions are requested, complete necessary revisions and upload a revised manuscript file and a revision report within four months. When the manuscript is accepted for publication, upload a final manuscript file. For the details of upload, please refer to an email which will be sent by a JSCE secretariat after the review.
 

7. Copyright transfer

After uploading the final manuscript, you will see a page on copyright transfer. Download Copyright Transfer and Page Charge Agreement, and fill out this form. Place signatures and seal, and send to the following address.

Note that signatures are required for all the authors. It is advisable to prepare the form as soon as the manuscript is accepted for publication.

8. Status of a manuscript

You can check the status of your manuscript. For details, please refer to an email sent by a JSCE secretariat after submission. Your manuscript number and password are required.
